Crescent rolls is recipe that serves well when we need snack or appetizer ideas.  Homemade dough is always fun and easy to be made, plus your children can have fun time playing with a peace of the dough, or helping you to assemble this rolls.
What is good and convenient with crescent rolls is that the dough is with neutral flavor and can be filled with cheese, marmalade, hot dogs, yellow cheese and salami. And because you will get two baking pans filled with this delicious snacks, you can make one sweet and the second salty. In that case please do not prepare 250 gr. cheese as it is listed in the recipe but half of the amount.

for the dough:

1 kilogram all purpose white flour

250 gr. sunflower seed oil

500 gr. lukewarm water

2 egg yolks

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon sugar

2 teaspoons dry yeast

250 gr. cheese (feta cheese, goat cheese, yellow cheese)
2 egg whites, beaten

nutella, peaces of chocolate or marmalade

plus some sesame and brown flax seeds

Sieve the flour in a large bowl you have for kneading bread and pastry. Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Beat the whites slightly with a fork and add it to the bowl with the cheese of your choice. Mash and stir well and leave it aside.

Warm the water pour it in the bowl with flour, add salt, sugar, yeast, the oil and knead everything well. The dough is going to be soft and oily. Shape it into a ball and sprinkle some flour on top of it. Cover it with warm cloth and leave it to rest for 2 hours or more. The place should be warm and far from cold air.

Uncover the bowl, place the dough on floured surface for kneading, knead for a minute then cut it on 6 even peaces. Keep one on the table and place the rest in the bowl and cover them again.

Use a rolling pin to give a round shape to the dough. Use a knife to cut it on four peaces, like a cross. And then cut those four triangles in half, you will end up with 8 triangles of dough.
Take one and make it thin with the rolling pin, place on teaspoon of the cheese or marmalade on the wider side, cover it with a peace of the dough. Press it well with your fingers (like the ravioli) so it will keep the filling inside then  continue rolling it into a croissant or moon shape. Place it on a large baking pan that is covered with baking paper.

Repeat the same steps with he rest of the dough.

This dough is enough for 48 crescent rolls, so you will need 2 baking pans, and place them in three, 8 peaces lines.

Put half teaspoon of sugar in a small cup with 3-4 tablespoons water, stir for the sugar to be dissolved, then brush the rolls on the top with his sweet water sprinkle with sesame and flax seed, so it will stick better.
Or just brush them with one egg yolk beaten with 1 tablespoon water, if you like your pastry red and darker.

Bake the rolls on 200 degrees Celsius for 30-40 minutes, until they rise well and turn red.
