OVAL PIZZA

Oval Pizza- Pastrmajlija

Pastrmajlija is Balkan pizza that has an oval shape and this pizza’s topping is often made with pork meat or sausages, with a mix of milk and eggs poured on the top at the end of the baking process.
Balkan food is rich and has many types of flat brad recipes. Pastmajlija can be ordered in pizza restaurants in many of the Balkan countries but is often served in houses as a homemade pizza for dinner.
 INGREDIENTS:
for the pizza dough:
500 gr. all purpose flour
7 gr. dry yeast
250 ml. lukewarm water
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Prepare the dough as it is explained in homemade pizza  page. Divide the dough in two balls. Using a rolling pin shape the dough in to and oval pizza, place the pastrmajlija in a baking pan and using your fingers form a ringaround that is going to keep the eggs inside.
Than place pizza toppings.
Pizza topping one:
2 sausages, of any type or hot dogs, sliced
4 eggs, beaten with 5 tablespoons fresh milk or heavy cream
Bake the pizza with the sausages for 10 minutes or until the dough ring starts turning red, open the oven and pour the eggs on top of the sausages, continue baking until eggs are ready.
 PASTRMAJLIJA
Pizza topping two:
100 gr. mozzarella cheese, sliced
10 pickles, diced
200 gr. ham or any salami or pariza, diced
4 eggs beaten with 4 tablespoons milk
Bake the pizza with the pickles, ham and mozzarella for 10 minutes or until the dough ring starts turning red, open the oven and pour the eggs on top of thesausages, continue baking until eggs are baked.
