Squid (Calamari) Sauce for Pasta

Squid sauce for pasta is a recipe you should prepare is you like to combine pasta with sea food. Try this easy and quick and creamy sauce that uses canned squid or calamari. You will be surprised how tasty it this fish sauce can be.


1 can (400gr) squid (calamari) in brine (wash them and remove bacckbone from tube if it is still there)

1 small onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, sliced

1 carrot, sliced

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1 pinch sugar

white pepper to taste

1 cup (200 ml) tomato sauce

1/2 cup white wine or 1/2 glass warm water

2 tablespoons heavy cream

Place the olive oil in your sauce pan a fry onions and garlic and carrot on a medium heat. Add squids, tomato, vine, wine or water, salt, sugar, pepper. Stir once.

Cover the sauce pan and simmer for 20 minutes.

Add 2 tablespoons heavy cram simmer for 5 more minutes and serve this calamari sauce on the top of your pasta dish.
