Apple Pie Recipe

Apple and Cloves Pie 

Apple is a fruit often used when making a pie. Apple and cloves combination pie will surprise you. It is really easy to prepare it and it does not need too much ingredients. Apple and cloves powder will keep you happy, and if you serve this fruit pie it with some ice cream it could become a really rich treat. I sometimes call it an apple tart, for its pastry reminds of a tart. It really is my favorite sweet pie.

INGREDIENTS:

For the pie pastry:

3 and 1/2 cups self-rising flour

1/4 cup melted butter

1/4 cup olive oil

1/2 cup white wine

1/2 teaspoon vanilla powder

1/2 cup sugar

For the pie filling:

4 cups green apples, cut on cubes

1/2 cup sugar

2 tablespoons corn flour

1/4 teaspoon cloves powder

1/2 teaspoon vanilla powder

Step one: prepare the pie filling: Take a large heavy bottom skillet and pour the 4 cups of apples in it. Fry on medium heat until apples release juices. If you see that apples are not really juicy help with some warm water (1/4 cup is fine). Once you have the juices in the skillet add the sugar, corn flour, cloves and vanilla powder and fry for a while, until juices get thicker but be careful the apple cubes must stay whole. Take it from the heat and leave it go get cold.

Step two: prepare the pie pastry: Put all ingredients for the pastry in a large bowl and stir with a spoon. Try not to work the dough with hands at this point because it will be to hard when baked. When you get a nice and smooth dough divide it on two balls. If you have time wrap the dough in a kitchen cling and leave it in the refrigerator for an hour. If you do not have time you can assemble the apple and cloves pie at this point.

Step three: assemble the apple pie: Put one pie pastry sheet on the bottom of a round baking pan (28 cm. diameter). Cover the sides of the pan if working with the pin is not working for you do not worry. Put half of the dough on the bottom of the pan and work with your fingers and spread it even. Pour the pie filling. Cut thin straps from the another half of pie pastry. Assemble a mash if you like the classical pie look, or just take a stamp and cover it with hearts, cubes or any other shape.

Bake in a preheat oven on 180 degrees Celsius for 45 to 50 minutes.

 

Peach pie

This pie or tart is using freash peaches, and it is easy to prepare it. It can be refregerated for a long time and it is a nice treat with a cup of cofee during the hot summer afternoons.

INGREDIENTS

measures with a 200ml. cup

3 and a 1/2 cup all purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup white wine

1/2 cup olive oil

1/2 cup sunflower seed oil

700 gr. peaches

5 to 7 table spoons sugar

3 tablespoons semolina fine flour

1/2 teaspoon grated (or ground) nutmeg
